Chad Perron: Music

Insane

(Chad Perron)
January 1, 2003

Forgive me but I’ve kind-of got this complex, some might even say that I’m deranged

Just let me try to put it in perspective, and maybe somehow it won’t seem so strange

A model of the classic human nature, did all of my grad work in complain

Just try and give me any situation, artistically I’ll paint it with disdain

Tell me honestly does this same story sound like you

Then you’re like me too – and I’m not so crazy

Chorus

Let us be grateful for God’s only Son, new life in the Spirit, and a Father’s true love

Walk in the sunlight and dance in the rain, let us never trade His glory for the things that don’t remain

It would be insane

So many times I shirk my obligations, sometimes I think my favorite word is no

It’s almost like the term “could use a hand here” indicates it’s time for me to go

Can it be that life’s too complicated, or maybe there’s just too much on my mind

At any rate my day is far too busy to dip into my short supply of time

Tell me honestly would this same story sound like you

Then you’re like me too – and sometimes we’re lazy

There has never been a single reason, there has never been a cause to doubt

It’s evident the loving Hand that made me is capable to work the small things out

The peace that passes every understanding can more than help to ease and change my mind

But when it comes to leaning on this promise, I think that my own strength will do just fine

Tell me honestly could this same story sound like you

Then you’re like me too – and our eyes are hazy
